After being away for 30 years, it was my dream to move back to my home town of Port Alberni. When Edward Jones wanted to open a branch here, I jumped at the chance to come home. I opened the first Edward Jones branch office in Port Alberni on February 27, 2020.

Four short years later, I'm pleased to announce that my son, Adam Ballard, has joined the Port Alberni branch as a financial advisor. We are very excited to be running a family business again! We work well as a team to serve individuals, families and businesses, helping them to achieve their financial goals and navigate all of life's transitions. With the addition of a second financial advisor, the Port Alberni Branch has a succession plan. Our clients can count on us to serve them for several generations.

Our full service brokerage and our team approach, working with other local professionals, allows us to develop personalized and complex financial solutions for our clients. We know the importance of developing a strategy and seeing it through. Every strategy and solution we recommend is based on what's important to you.

By appointment, you're welcome to come in and sit with us for a while. We'll ask you briefly to outline your financial goals – what your investment portfolio is intended to do for you. Then we'll review the portfolio for you and with you. If we think your investments continue to be well suited to your long-term goals – despite all the market turmoil – we'll gladly tell you so, and send you on your way. If, on the other hand, we think some of your investments no longer fit with your goals, we'll explain why, in plain English. And, if you like, we'll recommend some alternatives.
